What is the First Book of Enoch?
A book detailing the "fall" of several angels who come to earth and children with humanity, and their destruction. Heavy apocalyptic themes. What do scholars and theologians know about the First Book of Enoch?
Each part is believed to originally have been an independent book, all merged into one.
1:1-2. These are the words of Enoch, a good person whose eyes were opened, and saw the visions of Heaven delivered by God.
He saw and understood the angels, and delivered this, for future generations to understand.
1:3-9. On the day of victory,
God will come down from heaven,
And walk the earth in full strength.
Everyone will be in awe,
And the Fallen Angels will fear.
Mountains will be destroyed,
And hills will be flattened.
The earth will be destroyed,
And everyone will be judged.
God will give the righteous peace and mercy,
They will be protected, blessed, and helped as children.
A light will appear to them,
And God will come with 10,000s of angels.
2:1-3. Look at the stars, seasons, and cycles to see the grand order and pattern of everything.
3:1. Some trees keep their leaves through the winter until the new ones come in.
4:1. Sometimes the Earth and Sun get too hot in the summer.
5:1. Trees give leaves and bear fruit year after year.
5:2-3. God upholds all and nature is steady for us.
5:4-6. But you people have recently kind of sucked. That's why you hate your lives, and why you will find no mercy.
5:7-9. For the good people, there will be peace and joy and wisdom. They will inherit the earth and live out their lives happily.
6:1-2. At one point during humanity's history, during the days of my father Jared, some angels started lusting for some humans and wanted to have children. They made a plan to go down to Earth.
6:3-6. They were afraid each other was going to chicken out, but they promised and swore to each other to keep with their plan.
6:6-8. Two hundred of them landed on Mount Hermon.
Their leader was called Semiaza. There were 10 chiefs among them, including one named Sariel.
7:1-2. The angels got to Earth and found some partners. They taught them charms and enchantments, and how to work with plants.
7:3-6. The pairs started to have children, and the children were giants who started to take over the world, eating and destroying people and nature.
8:1-3. One of the angels named Azazel taught them to make weapons, armor, and jewelry from metal. Azazel also taught them about makeup and colored dye. They started having massive wars and orgies.
Semiaza taught magic, Sariel taught about the moon, and an angel named Shamsiel taught about the Sun. Other angels taught the planets and constellations and other stars.
Really, the entire rest of the book can be summarized by just this chapter.
9:1-4. Michael, Uriel, Raphael, and Gabriel looked down from heaven and saw all the bloodshed and chaos. They heard the crying from the humans and wanted to go get permission to help from God.
9:5-11. They approached God, and said, "You see what Azazel and Semiaza are doing with the secrets of heaven, they are teaching and promoting evil and destruction, and having giant children. Now the souls of the dead are crying at the gates of Heaven. They are restless because of the injustice on the Earth. What should we do?"
10:1-3. God told Uriel to go to Noah and warn him of the flood, and how to keep himself and his family alive.
10:4-8. God told Raphael to bind Azazel and cast him into a pit of darkness hidden in the desert, and cover him with rocks. God also told him to heal the Earth from all the destruction caused.
10:9-10. God told Gabriel to go to the giants, and set them against each other in war, and destroy the rest of them and limit their lifespan.
10:11-16. God told Michael, "Go, and bind Semiaza and the rest of the angels who were making the giants, to imprison them in the valley until the day when I destroy all evil and all wrong from the Earth.
10:17-19. The good people will live on and be blessed. The earth will be covered in trees and fruit and vines, which will be used to make lots of wine and oil.
10:20-21. Clean all oppression and evil from the Earth. Everyone will know Me, and the world will be free from punishment and sin.
11:1-2. I will give blessings, peace, and truth from Heaven."
37:1-2. I am Enoch. I am the seventh generation from Adam. I am the son of Jared, who goes back through Mahalalel, Cainan, Enosh, and Seth, to Adam.
12:1-6. I was hidden away during this time, and no one knew where I was at or what happened to me. I was worshipping God when I was told to go deliver this destruction sentence to the fallen angels.
13:1-6. I went and gave a speech to them, and they gathered together a petition to beg for forgiveness.
13:7-10. I considered and prayed about the petition. I wandered to a river and fell asleep praying and had a vision.
14:1-3. I went and told them my vision.
14:4-7. I said, "God has given me the power to punish you. You are not forgiven. You will be banished from heaven forever.
14:8-12. This was the vision I had: the clouds opened to me, and a mist welcomed me. I saw stars and lightning, and the winds lifted me into Heaven. There was a wall of crystals surrounded by tongues of fire, and eventually got a huge crystal house, completely made of it. The ceiling looked like the stars, with fiery angels. There was a flaming fire around the walls, and portals of fire.
14:13-15. I entered the house. The fire was cold as ice, and everything seemed dead. I got scared and fell to the ground. I had a vision within the vision.
14:16-17. There was a second house, even greater. It was built of fire. It was so gorgeous and magnificent it could never be described. The floor and ceiling were made of fire.
14:18-23. I saw a huge crystal throne, with wheels like the sun, surrounded by angels. Fire shot out from underneath, so bright I couldn't look. God sat on the throne, shining more brightly than the sun, and whiter than any snow. No angel could behold God's face. There was fire around and before God.
14:24-25. God told me to come close and listen. An angel lifted me up to God, and I bowed down.
15:1-12. God said, ‘Fear not Enoch, righteous scribe. Go and tell the fallen angels that you are not their messenger. Tell them of their crimes. Tell them they have lost eternal life, and that their children are evil. They oppress and cause destruction.
16:1-4. The fallen angels and giants will have it coming to them. Tell them they have no peace.'"
20:1-8. Here is the name of the 7 holy archangels who watch over everything, and took me off on a journey through Heaven and Earth.
Uriel, who watches over Earth.
Raphael, who watches over humanity.
Raguel, who watches over angels.
Michael, set over the best and the worst of it all.
Saraqael, who is set over sinners.
Gabriel, who watches over Paradise and angels.
Remiel, who watches over the dead.
17:1-8. We took off. The first place I saw as we traveled was a fire realm with some mountains. We went through the heavens, fire and water, over a river of lava and to a place of immense darkness, that had snowy mountains and rivers of deep ancient water, where no living thing walked.
18:1-5. I saw various treasures back from creation, and I saw the base and foundation of the Earth. I saw the four winds and the covering of Heaven, and how the winds stretched Heaven into pillars. I saw the winds pushing the stars and planets and carrying the Earth. I saw the end of the Earth and Heaven above.
18:10-16. At the edge there was a deep abyss that had columns of fire. There was no heaven above or earth below. There were seven stars. I asked about them.
19:1-3. Uriel told me that this is where angels who get punished will go, and where the fallen angels are going to be put.
21:1-6. I could then see that the seven stars were actually angels, and were already prisoners there. I asked Uriel what was going on, what they did. Uriel said, "Why are you worried about it? It's not really your business, just know they screwed up."
21:7-10. Then we went somewhere else even worse. There was a horrible blazing fire and huge fire columns as far as I could see, too big to even comprehend. I said this place was scary. Uriel asked me why. I told him because of all the pain I was sensing, and the size of the place.
23:1-4. Then they took me to a big fire that burned forever on the west end of the Earth, which Raguel told me was the fire that judged the angels.
22:1-2. Then I was taken to another place, a mountain made of hard rock. There were four deep, wide hollows inside with smooth sides.
22:3-4. Raphael told me this is where the spirits of the dead people go while they all await judgement.
22:5-7. I saw a spirit of a dead person crying, and Raphael told me it was Abel.
22:8-14. I asked why there were 4 caves, and Raphael said they were to split the spirits apart. The righteous get a nice spring of water. The other is where the bad people go.
18:6-9. Then we went to another place. There were seven mountains of different colors and materials. One was stone, one was pearl, another jacinth, and three in the south were red stone. But the 7th in the middle was made of alabaster, and at the top was a throne made of sapphire.
24:1-6. Among them, in the middle, was a tree with a fragrance unlike any other, with wood and leaves and fruit that never decayed.
25:1-7. Michael said, "Why do you care so much about this tree? This mountain is the throne of God. No one is allowed to touch the tree until after judgment day, then it will be a tasty food."
26:1-6. Then they took me to the middle of the Earth, where there was a mountain with rivers and valleys flowing in all directions. Some of the valleys were dry and rocky and deep and dangerous.
27:1-5. I asked where we were. Uriel told me this is where everyone will live after judgement day. The nice people get to live on the mountains with the trees and the bad people have to live in the valleys.
28:1-3. We traveled and saw a desert with an oasis of gushing water in the middle.
29:1-2. We kept going and there was a whole forest of trees made of frankincense and myrrh.
30:1-3. After that there was a valley filled with water, with cinnamon growing on both sides.
31:1-3. There were more forests of varying trees, some with fruits, some aloe, some almond, all smelled wonderful.
32:1-6. Further still there were more mountains, then a sea. Finally we got to the Garden of Eden. There were very many trees, along with the tree of knowledge. It was tall and magnificent. I mentioned how amazing it looked, and Raphael reminded me what happened to my ancestors Adam and Eve, how they were banished when they ate from it.
33:1-3. So we kept going, and there was a giant field of animals and birds, all sorts of beasts. I saw the edge of the earth in this direction, and the portals of Heaven flowing down to it.
33:4. Uriel showed me how to count and name the stars.
34:1-3. Further still at the north there were 3 more portals, where the north winds with snow and hail come from. One portal blows good wind, the other two blow destructive wind.
35:1. There were similar portals on the west end of the earth.
36:1-3. There were also similar portals in the south and east. Stars used the east and west portals to fly between.
36:4. I saw all this shit and gave massive credit to God for how impressive all this was. I knew I had to tell you all this so you could see for yourself and compliment God as well.
37:3-5. Here is some other shit which God showed me, that is some of the wisest shit of all time.
38:1-6. The day of judgement is coming. Bad things will happen to bad people, and good things will happen to good people.
39:1-5. One day I was taken back to heaven by a whirlwind. I saw all the angels praying on behalf of humanity.
39:6-8. I also saw Messiah and God, and even more angels surrounding the throne.
39:9-14. I praised God and saw all the angels who spent all day and night doing the same.
40:1-3. After that I saw millions of spirits before God. On the four sides I saw four angels and heard their four voices.
40:4-7. The first voice sang praises to God.
The second voice sang praises to Messiah.
The third voice prayed for the people on the Earth.
The fourth voice fought off demons.
40:8. I asked the angel who was with me who they were.
40:9-10. They said, "The first is Michael the merciful.
The second is Raphael, who is set over disease and wounds."
The third is Gabriel, who is set over all powers.
And the fourth is Phanuel, who is set over repentance towards eternal life."
41:1-2. After that I saw all the secrets of Heaven, how everything is divided, and how people are judged. There were mansions for the holy, and I saw all the sinners being dragged off.
43:1-4. I saw lightning and stars, and how they responded to God calling their name. I saw how they had perfect orbits and revolutions.
44:1. I saw how the stars became lightning.
41:3-9. I saw the secrets of lightning and thunder and wind, the secrets of clouds and rain, where it all came from. I saw the cloud that hovered over the earth at the beginning of the world. I saw the realm of the sun and moon- where they come and go during their orbit. Let them be guides for the righteous.
42:1-3. But Wisdom had no home, so she went to live with humanity. She also found no home there, so she went back to Heaven. Something bad left from her house, and went out into the world.
45:1. This is the second parable.
48:1. There were fountains of righteousness, and wisdom, and many holy things.
46:1. I saw God with Messiah. I asked the angel who the Messiah was, and when he was coming, and what their deal was.
48:2-10. The angel said Messiah was named by God before creation. They are a warrior for good people, a guide to the unreligious, and hope to those who are troubled. Everyone on Earth will worship and celebrate with them. Messiah has been hidden, but will be revealed by the wisdom of God to the righteous.
46:2-8. Messiah is righteous and will go to reveal secrets and treasures because God has chosen them to. They will go and take the kings from their thrones. They will punish the unrighteous and those whose power comes from riches.
45:2-6. There will be a day of judgement. Messiah will sit on the throne and judge the world and souls.
God will transform Heaven and Earth, and let the good people live on the Earth in peace.
Bad people won't go to heaven on the day of judgment. They will be destroyed.
49:1-4. Messiah has the spirit of wisdom, which gives insight, which gives understanding. They will judge all, and none will be able to lie.
47:1-4. All the good people will ascend to Heaven and sing together. God will sit on a throne and open the books of the living. Everyone will be excited.
50:1-5. God is compassionate and righteous.
51:1-5. Everything will be set right. Messiah will teach wisdom and secrets.
52:1-2. After that, they carried me to a place where there were 6 mountains- one each of iron, copper, silver, gold, tin, and lead.
52:3-4. I asked the angel I was with, "What does all of this mean?"
52:5-9. The angel said, "These visions will help the goals of Messiah. Wait, and you will understand more secrets. No amount of gold or silver money will help, and no amount of metal weapons or armor will help. All of these things will be destroyed when Messiah appears before God."
53:1-7. There were deep valleys full of people, who are kings and rulers of the Earth, and they will be destroyed. Then Messiah's team will appear.
54:1-6. I turned and there was a deep valley full of fire, which they started throwing kings and tyrants in. I saw massive chains, which the angel I was with said they were for Azazel and the other fallen angels.
56:1-8. I saw angels going to punish, and they were carrying chains of bronze and iron. The angel with me told me they were going to put people in the valley, and that the valley will swallow up and destroy the sinners.
54:7-10. At that time, God will destroy all the feminine earthly water with the heavenly masculine water, and it will kill everyone. They will only get to die when the realize the harm they've caused.
55:1-4. After that God will apologize and feel bad for destroying everything on Earth, and promise to only destroy those that deserved it.
57:1-3. I saw men riding wagons coming from all directions from heaven. The pillars that held up Heaven were moved, and everyone worshipped God forever.
58:1-6. This is the third parable. All the good people will live in Heaven on Earth forever.
59:1-3. I saw the secrets of lightning and thunder, and how they judge Earth from the skies.
60:1-6. In the year 500, everything, including Heaven started to shake and tremble. I saw God and millions of angels. I fell on my face.
Michael sent another angel to bring me up to him. He asked me, "Why are you so scared? This vision should be amazing. God is going to set everything right."
60:7-10. On that day, two monsters emerged, a female sea monster named Leviathan, and a male wild beast named Behemoth. I asked one of the angels what these monsters could do, but they told me it was secret.
60:11-25. The other angel showed me another secret, what was first & last in heaven, what was biggest and beneath the earth and surrounded the heavens. I was taught the secrets of wind, light, moons, thunder, lightning, the sea, hail, snow, dew, and rain.
61:1-5. I saw angels carrying measuring ropes, and asked where they were going. The angel with me told me they were going to measure out the rewards for everyone. Good people will team up together and receive these rewards.
61:6-7. Everyone in Heaven will receive a power, voice, and light life fire, overcome with wisdom with the spirit of life.
61:8-13. God will put Messiah on the throne, and they will judge. They will summon all the armies of heaven- the Cherubim, Seraphim, and Ophanim, and all the angels, and they will bless and glorify God in the spirit of patience, mercy, peace, and goodness. Everyone and thing will bless God.
62:1-16. The Spirit of Goodness will aid Messiah. Their words will kill wrongdoers and they destroy evil with just a look. They will bring the good people together for blessings and judge the world.
63:1-12. The bad people will feel bad and ask for forgiveness.
64:1-2. I saw the fallen angels.
65:1-12. Noah saw all the destruction on the Earth and called out to me. The Earth started to shake, a voice was heard from Heaven, and I appeared and informed Noah of the evil of the fallen angels and how God was going to destroy the Earth.
67:1-13. God had the angels build and ark and he gave it to Noah and told him more about the plan.
66:1-3. Noah saw the angels who were going to let loose the flood.
68:1. That’s when I wrote all of this down and gave it to Noah.
68:2-5. Michael was anxious about the coming judgement.
69:1-3. There were about twenty angels that went down to the Earth, including Semiaza, Baraqel, Hanael, and Azazel.
69:4-25. But the chief evil angels were:
Jeqon, the leader of the fallen angels, who had the idea to come to earth and marry humans.
Asbeel, who talked a bunch of others into doing it, too.
Gadreel, who led Eve astray, and showed humanity how to fight and make weapons.
Penemue, who taught humanity how to write and make ink and paper.
Kasdeja, who taught humanity how to work with spirits and demons, and the magic of the serpent.
Kasbeel, who stole the Oath of Creation and Secret Name from Michael, which was God's way of creating literally everything.
69:26-29. Everyone else celebrated when the name of Messiah had been revealed and they were seated on the throne.
They destroyed all the evil like expected, and no more evil can come to take it's place.
70:1-4. After that I was raised to Messiah and God and from the Earth by chariots, completely disappearing, but put out by the winds, where I watched over the land of the righteous. There I saw the first fathers and other good people who live there.
71:1-2. In Heaven I saw angels dressed in white dancing in fire before God.
71:3-4. Michael took my hand and showed me secrets of the ends of Heaven, and of stars and angels.
71:5-9. He took me deeper into Heaven, and there was a house built of living crystals with fire tongues. On all four sides were burning fire rivers, and all the angels, Seraphim, Cherubim, and Ophanim, millions of them circling with Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, and Phanuel.
71:10-13. God was inside the house. I fell in worship.
71:14-17. I asked who Messiah was.
The angel said, "The messiah is born in a bad time, but goodness takes over them.
They declare peace in the name of God's world,
And will enforce it forever.
Everyone will walk in the ways of Messiah.
The people will dwell in Messiah, and will never be separated from God.
The people will be peaceful and righteous and just forever."
72:1. This is how stars work, according to Uriel.
78:1. The sun is named the sun.
78:2. The moon is named the moon.
72:37. The Sun and Moon are the same size, but the Sun is seven times as bright.
78:3. The sun and moon are the same size.
78:4. The sun is brighter than the moon.
78:5. They rise in the east and set in the west.
72:2-8. The Sun rises in the east and sets in the west. It is made of fire and rides on a chariot driven by the winds. The moon and stars follow, but the sun goes first and travels around the circumference of Heaven.
72:9-36. There are six pairs of portals it uses to rise and set.
It rises through the fourth portal for thirty days in a row. At the start the day to night ratio is 9 parts to 9 parts, but at the end of the 30 days, the day to night ratio becomes 10 to 8.
Then it rises from the fifth portal for 30 days, and the ratio becomes 11 to 7.
Then it rises from the sixth portal for 30 days, where the ratio is 12:6.
After that it goes back to the fifth for 30 days, and works it's way through all the portals, to the first portal, where the day to night ratio is 6:12.
After the night is twice as long as day, it goes back through them to the fourth portal, where it started, and day and night are equal.
That is one year which is 364 days.
This is the law and course of the sun that will happen forever, and these are the divisions we can make.
*This is an ancient, written explanation of how the sun rises/sets in different spots through the year, and how the days get longer/shorter based on season.
73:1-8. The Moon also travels on a chariot driven by the winds.
74:1-6. Uriel taught me all about the moon, including it having a monthly revolution, where it gets lighter and darker.
*The new/full moon cycle.
78:6-9. The moon is full after 14 days, and goes in a cycle.
78:10. The moon is lit up because the sun gives it light.
78:11. The moon cycle is because of where the moon and sun are in space.
78:12-14. The new moon is called the "new moon", and the full moon the "full moon."
78:15-17. no clue
74:30. translation error
74:7-17. Uriel showed how the sun and days make years, and sometimes they have to make up for the difference to keep the years even.
82:4-9. Uriel establishes the four divisions of the year - each one is 90 days, with an extra leap day for each division, making 364 days total.
82:10-20. There are leaders and descriptions given for each season.
75:1-9. Uriel teaches other things, including:
Leap days
12 doors in the sky that the sun shines through that control the seasons
12 portals which all the stars, sun, and moon go through
Chariots which pull the stars
76:1-14. He sees 12 portals which winds come through, arranged in a circle around a flat world.
There is a set of 3 in each direction.
In each set of the three, the middle one brings good stuff, and the outer ones bring bad stuff.
In the east:
The top portal brings cold and drought.
The middle portal brings rain and fruit.
The bottom portal brings drought and heat.
In the south:
The first portal brings heat.
The second portal brings good smells, dew, and health.
The third portal brings locusts and destruction.
In the north:
The first portal brings locusts and destruction.
The second brings health.
The third brings frost, snow, and locusts.
In the west:
The top portal brings cold and drought.
The middle portal brings rain and fruit.
The bottom portal brings drought and heat.
77:1-3. The directions get named.
East is where the sun rises.
South is where God will come from.
West is where everything sets.
North is part for humans, part ocean and forest, and part holy garden.
77:4. There are 7 very tall mountains.
77:5-7. There are 7 huge rivers.
77:8. There are 7 great islands.
79:1-6. That's about everything regarding space, all coming from Uriel.
80:1-8. Uriel said, "Now I've shown you how all this works. It will always work this way. If the sun or moon ever deviate from course, then you'll know the judgment day is near, when all the bad will get destroyed."
81:1-4. Uriel gave me all of this stuff written on tablets, and had me study them. I was very excited and very thankful.
81:5. The 7 angels finally brought me back home and told me tell everything to my son Methuselah.
81:6. They told me I had exactly one year to study with him before they would come back and take me for good.
81:7-9. They gave me confidence.
81:10. They dropped contact, and I started spreading the word of what I had seen.
82:1. That's why I'm writing all of this down for you now, Methuselah, to teach you everything I know, and so you can pass it along as well.
82:2. I'm giving you my wisdom to pass on through your children, and their children, and so on.
82:3. Those who understand this will not be able to sleep, and it will provide more sustenance than food.
This clearly forshadows Noah.
83:1-2. Now, my son Methuselah, I will tell you about some visions I have seen.
83:3. I was taking a nap at my grandpa Mahaeliel's house when I had a vision where I saw heaven fall to earth.
83:4. I saw the earth swallowed and consumed by a giant pit. Mountains, hills, and forests crashed and crumbled.
83:5. All I managed to say was, "It's all gone."
83:6. That's when Mahaeliel woke me up, and asked me why I was crying.
83:7-9. I told him about the vision.
He told me that while it was horrible, it was the truth, and that I was meant to appeal to God to at least save a little bit of the earth.
83:10-11. So I wrote down all the prayers I could (especially after seeing all this shit) for future generations.
84:1-6. This is what I prayed:
"You are awesome and powerful, God.
You created everything, and will rule forever.
Everything is yours forever.
You are wise, and nothing is hidden from you.
But now, some angels are acting up.
I know you have to do something, but please, leave someone aloive to carry on humanity.
Destroy the ones who screwed up, not the rest of us."
Pretty obvious allusion to the Torah, where animals are humans, and humans are angels. This book was written much after the Torah, around 300-100BC, but it takes place back before even Noah was born (like chapter 5 of Genesis.) Thus, it's clear to us what these animals represent, but Enoch is not really supposed to know what he's seeing.
85:1-2. Here is my second vision, that I had back before I married your mom.
85:3. A white bull ox came from the earth, and after came a cow ox.
Next came two bulls, one black, one red.
85:4. The black bull killed the red one and ran all over the earth.
85:5. The black bull had many children.
85:6. The cow looked for the red bull, but couldn't find him, so she cried.
85:7. The first bull comforted her and she stopped crying.
85:8. They had another ox, their only white bull. They had many oxen after, but none were white.
85:9. The white bull grew and had many children that were also white.
86:1-3. I saw a star fall from heaven, and it started eating with the oxen. First just one, but then I saw many stars fall from heaven and also began eating with all of them.
86:4. I watched the stars (who were hung like horses, by the way) begin to have sex with the cows, and they gave birth to elephants, camels, and donkeys.
86:5. The oxen were afraid and began fighting the other species, goring them with their horns.
86:6. But the stars started eating the oxen, and everyone got super scared.
87:1. I watched them goring and eating each other and began to cry to God.
87:2. I looked at the sky and saw seven angels coming, four angels up front leading the other three behind.
87:3. The three in the back grabbed me and took me away and showed me a huge tower.
87:4. They said, "Wait here until you see what we do to them."
88:1. I saw the other four angels go find and grab the first star that fell, and locked them up in chains and tossed them into a huge pit.
88:2. The elephants, camels, and donkeys managed to get their paws on some swords, and began fighting each other.
88:3. Then one of the four angels started stoning all the other animals, and took the stars, and locked them up, and tossed them into a bit.
89:1. One of the four angels went to a white bull who had turned into a human to build a boat to live on, along with three other bulls.
89:2. I looked at the sky and saw water pouring from seven portals.
89:3-4. The water started to flood the earth, and soon it was entirely covered.
89:5-6. All the oxen and other animals drowned, while the boat that was built began to float.
89:7-8. Eventually a giant pit was opened, and all the water drained into it.
89:9. The white bull-man came out of the boat with his three bulls- one white, one black, and one red. Eventually, the bull-man died.
89:10. Many other animals started to arise- lions, tigers, wolves, dogs, hyenas, wild boars, foxes, squirrels, swine, falcons, vultures, kites, eagles, and ravens, and eventually, another white bull.
89:11. They began to fight with each other.
The next white bull gave birth to both a donkey and white bull. The donkeys started to multiply.
89:12. The white bull gave birth to a wild boar and a white sheep.
The wild boar had many children.
The white sheep had twelve sheep.
89:13. When the twelve sheep grew up, they gave one of their brothers to the wolves, and so that sheep grew up raised by wolves.
89:14. The eleven sheep went to go live with the one sheep, so that all the sheep lived among the wolves.
Pretty obvious allusion to the Torah using animals.
89:15. The wolves began to fear the sheep, and started to oppress them. The wolves started to murder baby sheep.
89:16. One of the sheep escaped from the wolves and went to live with the donkeys, even though they were very sad about having to leave everyone behind. Eventually, God went to go talk to the sheep.
89:17. God told the sheep to tell the wolves not to bother the other sheep.
89:18. The sheep met with it's brother and went to go talk to the wolves.
89:19. The wolves did not react well and were more mean to the other sheep.
89:20. God started to curse the wolves.
89:21-23. God led the sheep to leave the wolves. The wolves chased after the sheep, and eventually they got to a sea.
89:24-27. The sea split into two, and the sheep ran through, and the wolves followed. The sheep made it all the way through, but the sea collapsed back together and drowned all the wolves.
89:28. The sheep got to other side where there was no water or grass, but God gave them plenty of water of grass while leading them.
89:29-31. God appeared to the sheep on a mountain. It was a terrifying sight, and everyone was scared.
89:32. The main leader sheep went to go talk to God, and while he was gone, they all started breaking the rules.
89:33. God was pissed. The main sheep saw how disobedient some of the sheep had become.
89:34-35. The main sheep took his brother sheep and killed all the bad sheep.
89:36. I saw the sheep build a house for God.
89:37. They kept wandering around the desert until they got to a big stream.
89:38. The main sheep turned into a human, and eventually died. Everyone was sad and crying.
89:39. They crossed the stream, and two more sheep arose as leaders.
89:40. They got to a wonderful pasture.
89:41. Sometimes the sheep got lost and confused, but other sheep would arise to lead them back.
What started as an obvious allusion to the Torah, now starts to become more muddied as it reaches what is believed to be "current events" of when Enoch was actually written.
89:42-43. Eventually, the sheep would get attacked by other animals, but one day, a strong ram was born who protected and led them.
89:44. But one day the ram started acting up and attacking sheep.
89:45-50. But God sent another ram to defeat the first. It chased the ram to some dogs, and they ate it.
The second ram led all the sheep, had many children, grew a successful family and kingdom, and died.
89:51. Again, the sheep started to screw up, and God sent some sheep to deliver messages, but they were killed.
89:52. One of the sheep escaped, and God brought them up to heaven to hang out with me.
89:53. God kept sending prophet sheep.
89:54-57. The sheep didn't listen and kept murdering each other, so God let the other wild animals start eating the sheep. It made me really sad, and I asked God to stop.
89:58. God didn't listen and was proud of the slaughter.
89:59-60. God sent 70 shepherds to herd the sheep, and let them know they would be told which sheep to kill.
*This is one of the first things are unclear - what the 70 shepherds are supposed to represent, if anything, besides angels.
89:61-64. God was worried the shepherds would kill more sheep than asked of them, so God sent another human to watch over the shepherds, and to keep track of every sheep killed.
*Again, unclear on who the "manager" is supposed to be. It could be just in general, it could be referencing the Messiah, or an allusion to a future Metaron, or anywhere in between.
89:65-67. The shepherds did allow more sheep than allowed to be killed. Lions and tigers ate tons of sheep and destroyed a special tower and house. I was really sad about this. I didn't know if any of them actually got to enter.
89:68-71. The associate kept track of all the extra deaths in a book, and showed it to God.
89:72. Three of the sheep began to rebuild the destruction. Boars tried to stop them, but they were unsuccessful.
89:73. They rebuilt the tower, along with a table, but they put unclean bread on the table.
89:74. This made both the sheep and the shepherds blind, and many more sheep ended up dead.
89:75. God didn't notice until the sheep were all spread out and intermigled with the beasts. The shepherds didn't care.
89:76. The one taking account wrote all of this down in a book, went up to God, set it down, and left.
90:1-5. A bunch of birds murdered most of the sheep.
90:6-12. The birds kept tormenting the sheep, until the lambs started to grow horns. One grew a special big horn and started fighting back the birds. The birds didn't stand a chance.
*Unclear who this is- possibly a historic general or warrior.
90:13-18. The birds gathered together to break the horn of the ram. The one writing the book reminded God what was going on. God smashed the earth with his fist and all the beasts and birds died.
90:19. God gave the sheep some swords so they could fight back. All the beasts and birds ran away.
90:20-27. God built a throne and sat in it. God gathered the stars and the shepards and threw them all into a pit of fire.
90:28-30. God built a new, bigger house. All the sheep worshipped at the house, and all the other animals apologized to the sheep and listened to their rules.
90:31-33. Then the three angels who brought me up here took me to see the final judgment.
The sheeps' wool was white and clean.
All the animals gathered in the new house, it was packed full.
90:34-36. The sheep put down their swords. They could all see clearly.
90:37-38. A white bull was born with huge horns who all the other animals were afraid of. All the children were transformed into white bulls. The leader of them became a great animal with huge black horns.
90:39-42. Then I woke up and remembered everything from this vision. I started to cry.
This book is believed to have been cut and paste together from different sources. It's long and repetitive.
92:1. This book written by Enoch is for his childen and all future generations.
91:1-2. My son Methuselah, gather your siblings, and lisiten to the spirit speak through me about your fate.
91:3. Love and be good.
91:4. Focus your heart in one place, and avoid those who split their hearts. Your heart will guide you.
92:2. Don't be worried about the troubles of the present. God will fix them when the time is right.
92:3-5. The dead people who are good will come back to life. They will have power and goodness for ever. No one will be able to do any wrong at all anymore. Here's how it will happen.
91:5-8. Violence and wrongdoing will increase. Then, God will come to make judgment.
91:9. Fake religions and idols will be destroyed.
91:10-11. Thats when they'll come back to life and be given wisdom.
91:18. I will explain to you what good and evil are, so you'll know it when it's happening.
91:19. Don't be evil. People who are evil will die forever.
These sections are believed to have been one text originally. In this case, you can see how the 8-10th ages actually appear in the text before the 1-7th ages.
Also, the translation says "week" instead of "age", but it seems to me that "age" is more accurate.
93:1. Enoch started to talk about what he remembered from reading the magic tablets the angels gave him.
93:3. I was born in the seventh generation. This is during the 1st age, while there is still goodness in the world.
93:4. After me, there will be a 2nd age with great evil, but Noah will be saved and a law will be given to Moses.
93:5. In the 3rd age a human will be chosen as a Holy Plant.
93:6. In the 4th age, everyone will get visions of the holy and righteous. The world will get a law given to them, and a wall around the world will be built.
93:7. In the 5th age, a great temple for God will be built.
93:8. In the 6th age, everyone in the world will be blinded, and their hearts will turn evil.
A human will become the leader, and the temple will be destroyed.
God's chosen race of people will be scattered throught the world.
93:9-14. In the 7th age, a rebellious generation will arise.
At then end of it, the good people will know it's them, and they'll be given instructions on what to do.
No one can see God, or hear God's thoughts, or see the magic of heaven without being terrified.
How could anyone understand heaven and teach about it?
Is there anyone that knows the secrets of earth or space?
91:12-13. In the 8th age, the good people will be given a sword to kill the bad people.
They will be given houses, and a house will be built for God.
91:14. In the 9th age, the whole world will know who the good people are, and the world will be prepared for destruction.
91:15-17. In the 10th age, God will judge the angels.
The first heaven will disappear and a new one will appear. It will be seven times as bright.
Everyone will live happily forever after.
94:1-5. Listen, children, be good and peaceful people. God will approve.
Do not follow the paths of violence and death.
Remember these words and don't be tempted by others.
96:1. Have hope if you're a good person, all the assholes will be destroyed. You'll even get to decide what happens to them.
96:2. You'll rise like birds to heaven.
96:3. If you're suffering, don't fear. You'll be healed and enlightened.
97:1. Have faith that the evil people will be destroyed.
99:3. Get ready to give your testimony aginst the bad people to the angels, and they'll be taken before God.
99:10. At that time, anyone who accepts these wise words and understands them, and walks the path of God, will be saved.
98:1-2. Both the wise and foolish have tons of differing experiences on the earth.
They'll wear fancy clothes and jewelry.
98:3. They'll want wisdom and direction, and will die with their possessions. Their fame will fade away, and their spirits will burn in fire.
99:4. There will be lots of wars.
99:5. People will leave their children to starve, and forget about their loved ones.
99:6. There will be a day of endless killing.
100:4. In those days, all the angels will go to the secret places on earth and gather everyone together.
100:1. They'll be killed until there is a river of blood.
100:2. Everyone will fight and kill each other.
100:3. There will be so much blood that horses will have to swim.
100:5. All the good people will get guardian angels until God kills all the bad people.
100:6. Then everyone will realize the wisdom in this book, and that their riches will not save them.
101:1. Look at heaven, and all the things God has created. Fear God.
101:2. If God stops the rain, what will you do?
101:3. Don't ask for forgiveness with the same mouth you used to curse God.
101:4. Don't you see how big and strong the ocean and waves are?
101:5. Sailors get terrified when they have to travel the seas.
101:6. The seas and waves are controlled by God, and God has them contained by sand.
101:7. God can make the oceans disappear in the blink of an eye, and all the fish will die, too. But still, you're not afraid.
101:8. Wasn't it God who made everything?
101:9. Don't sailors fear the sea?
Still, you're not afraid.
102:1. When God sends fire from the skies, where will you run?
102:2. All the angels, stars, and earth will be afraid.
102:3. Angels will follow their orders, good people will be araid, and bad people will have no peace.
102:4. Don't be afarid if you're a good person, just hope you actually are.
102:5. Don't worry if you're sad in hell, just wait for the day of judgment.
102:6-11. Bad people say, "We all die anyway- what's the point in being good?
Just be happy to eat and drink and steal and make money!
Have you noticed that good people don't see violence until their death?
But still, they die and face judgment."
103:5-6. Fuck you wrongdoers, who have easy lives and never get held accountable. The only people who miss you are other fuckups like yourself.
103:7. Your souls will go to hell and be tormented.
103:8. There is dark place with a burning flame and chains where you will be judged and never have peace.
108:1. This is another book Enoch wrote for Methuselah.
108:2-3. Good people will wait for the day when evil is destroyed.
108:4. One time, I had a vision. I saw something like an invisible cloud, a bright light, and shining mountains floating around.
108:5. I asked one the angels near me, "What is this thing? It's bright but feels sad."
108:6. The angel said, "This place is hell- where the spirits of wrongdoers go.
108:7-10. There's a book that says who goes here.
Meanhwhile, people who are humble;
Who are sick;
Who loved God and hated money, and gave up their lives;
Who didn't go after earthly things, but spiritual things;
Who were walked on and abused;
All the gifts they'll get are written in books, too.
108:11-15. Now, I will call the spirits of the good people.
Anyone who loved God, I will make shiny and give them a special chair.
They will be happy forever. God will keep his promises.
Everyone will know who is good and who is bad.
The wrongdoers will cry when they see the others happy, and they be taken to jail."
94:6-9. Fuck evil, oppressors, and liars. They will be destroyed.
Fuck people who build their lives on doing wrong. They will die a bloody a death.
Fuck the rich. You've forgotten God and are evil. You look ready for death.

God will be happy at your destruction.
The good people will be angry with you, too.
95:1-3. I cry just thinking about all the evil people.
Who's given you a right to be an asshole?
Don't fear them, though.
God will let you put them in their place and let you do whatever you want to them.
95:4-7. Fuck those who throw around irreversable curses.
Fuck those who throw around evil, it will be thrown back to you.

Fuck the powerful who oppress people. You'll get what's coming to you.
97:2-6. Watch out, fuckers, God is going to personally watch, and the angels are going to cheer.
What are you going to do, run away?
God will hear the prayer of the good people and God will come for you.
Everything you've ever done will be read before God, and you'll have to watch and listen.
97:7-10. Fuck those who only leave bad memories for others.
Fuck those who get rich by immoral means.
Your riches and lies will flow away like water, and you'll be cursed.
98:4-8. You yourself are responsible for your wrongdoings, it's no one else's fault.
All of your evil will be revealed- nothing will be kept hidden.
If you didn't already know that every wrongdoing is being recorded, you know now.
98:9-16. Fuck the stupid.

Fuck the stubborn hearts who spy on others in order to cause trouble
Fuck those who say bad things.
100:10-13. The angels will ask the sun and moon and stars what you did, too.
And every cloud or drop of rain will testify against you, and you won't be able to see any water ever again.
You'll have to pay a fee for the rain will come back.
Snow and storms are coming, instead.
You won't stand a chance.
103:1-2. I swear to God I got to read special angel tablets, and this is what they said:
103:3. The good people will get tons of gifts and happiness and joy, and paid back for everything they have ever done.
103:4. They will live forever with God.
103:9-15. If you are a good person, do not think like this, it's ungrateful and rude.
"We've worked hard and suffered much. We're tired.
We've been destroyed. No one has ever helped us.
We wanted to be the best, but have become the worst. We worked hard for no reason.
People only took advantage of us.
We wanted to run away, but didn't know where to go.
We tried to ask for help, but no one listened.
The rulers only helped those who oppressed and robbed us, and covered up our murders."
104:1. I promise the angels and God know all the good you did, and your name was written in a book.
104:2. In life, you were met with shame and sickness, but now, you will shine like stars.
104:3. If you cry, cry for justice, and you'll get it.
104:4. Have hope, you'll be as happy as the angels in heaven.
104:5. You don't have anything to worry about- you won't be judged or tormented.
104:6. Don't worry if you see wrongdoers getting money and power on earth. Stay away from them, and you'll become friends of heaven.
104:7. Although wrongdoers think no one is keeping track, they are.
104:8. Now that I've taught you right from wrong, take a good look at yourself.
104:9. Don't have an empty heart, lie or change holy words.
Don't say God lies.
Dont worship idols.
104:10-11. I know people will try to change what things say and write their own ideas, but if you try to copy or translate these words, do so truthfully, as I first said them.
104:12-13. All the good people will get a ton pf books. You'll be really excited about the books you get.
105:1. At that time God ordered [the angels/the messiah] to start teaching things to humanity because they are guides and a gift.

Amen.
Originally placed in the last section, after the epistle, but more closely fits in here.
106:1. After a while, my grandson Lamech had a grandchild.
106:2. When he was born, his body was white as snow and red as rose, and he had long white hair. When he opened his eyes, the house lit up.
106:3. He started floating the hands of the nurse, and started talking to God.
106:4. Lamech was terrified, and ran to his father, my son, Methuselah.
106:5-7. Lamech said, "My kid is fucking weird, Dad. He looks like an angel, and his eyes shine like the sun. Literally.
I'm worried he's not mine, but is an angel, and it's a sign of the end of times.
Dad, go to Grandpa Enoch and ask him to find out what's going on."
106:8-12. That's when Methuselah came to me on the edge of the earth, crying and worried, and told me the story of what had happened.
106:13-14. I told him that God was indeed planning something, because some of the angels fucked up and fucked around back in the days of my father, Jared.
106:17. They had chidren with humans who didn't have giant hearts, but giant bodies.
106:15-16. There was going to be a flood for a whole year that was going to destroy the earth, but the child that was just born is going to be the only one to survive, along with his own three children.
106:18-19. I said to him, "Name the child Noah, because he will survive God destroying the evil in the world. I mean, not all the evil in the world, there will still be more to the story afterword.
107:1-2. There will be generation after generation of bad people until a generation of good people arises, and evil is rid from the earth.
Go tell Lamech the truth."
107:3. Methesulah left and told his son.
